beth, and microscopical examinationrevealed abundant giant, cells and mall cascating areas. In the right lung were only a few miliary tubercles in the upper and lower
lobes.

_Mo 191. A male child of 11 months. Although the right lung showed maroly miliary and gray tuberales, whereas the left was in a condition of tuberculous broncho- preusonia with ulceration in the lower lobe, there was no affection of the corres- ponding glands on the left side, while those on the right mero enlarged and showed
on section foci of cassation,
Case 185 affords a good example of the passing over of the nearest related glæd to involve one more distent,or,perhaps, one may regard it as an example of the seve of transference between the mediastinal glands on the two sides. In this case the pulmonary focus was in the right lung, there being also miliary in both; the hilus glands were enlarged on both sides, but whereas that on the right showed merely a small caseous point on section, that on the left was completely usaunted.
2. The frequent singimass of the lung focus,
Among the sixteal cases described by Canta thare were eight with a single foms, while then states that in 72,37% this is the case. Of the 325 children under 10 years of age among my series of 300 cases there være 137 showing focal conditions in the lungs. Of these there were 95 in. which the focus was single,i,e, in 69.34%; in 42 or 30.66% there ma mere than one. No 22 whibited a definite focus in the lower lobe of the left lung and also a zase the size of a pea, consisting of agggega- tad mall grey tuberdies,in the lowest lobe of the right ling. This has been regard-
in
ed as a second fuous im process of formation, and the case is, therefore, included among those with more than one, On the other hand No 51 has been included among those with a single focus because the small mass of agglomerated tubercles just beneath the apex of the right lung was quite prominent and gavo a focal appearan de na compared with the scattered miliary tuberales elsewhere,
thon found that when only one lung focus was discovered the various lobos ware involved in the following order of frequency: Right upper 30,98%%, left upper 23.24% right lower 22,54%,left lower 15,49%, and right, middle 7.75%.
Of the 95 cases in my series in which only a single focus was found the numbers in which sach lebe was soneemed were: Right upper 26 or 27.37%, right lower 23 or #4.215, left upper 18 ar 18.9%,left lower 15 or 15.79%, right middle 13 or 13.68%.
